Colloide Engineering Systems has a strong commitment to corporate responsibility and this is a central theme of our procurement strategy for the goods and services we buy.

Colloide's business of providing water and wastewater services to our customers is integral to public health and the protection of the environment. Our aim is to make Colloide a sustainable company with a sustainable supply chain, whilst promoting a sustainable regional environment.

We work with suppliers and contractors in promoting greater environmental, social and ethical awareness, encouraging them to offer competitively priced environmentally preferable products and services.

Our business select suppliers / sub contractors that are compliant with relevant environmental legislative and regulatory requirements and are expected to maintain strong health and safety records and to treat their employees fairly in line with the standards set out by the International Labour Organisation.

Colloide encourage energy efficient design of new services, processes and products, minimising energy use and the emission of greenhouse gases.

Colloide take account of whole life costs by assessing both the capital and operating costs of new or replacement equipment, purchasing the best available product for the lowest whole life cost.

Our goal is to work with suppliers / contractors that are dedicated to sustainable solutions, using goods, materials and services that ultimately meet the our needs whilst benefiting sustainability; environment, society and the economy.


      
             
 11/08/2010 Colloide's MBBR technology advances into further fields
Colloide’s Moving Bed Bioreactor System provides a highly effective treatment solution using biofilm to provide organic carbon removal and nitrification / de-nitrification where necessary. Colloide have used this attached growth system for some time on small to medium scale applications. Due to continued development, we have improved our performance and efficiency while increasing the number of applications.
 09/08/2010 Colloide successfully supply & install No. 4 Continuous backwashing filters for Whitchurch WTW, Shropshire, Wales, United Kingdom
Colloide’s have successfully completed a contract in the United Kingdom for the design and build of a tertiary sand filtration plant for treating effluent from a humus tank prior to discharge. Scope of work included the supply of No. 4 continuous backwashing filters for a water treatment works.
 09/08/2010 Colloide secures Goldrum WTW contract, Donegal, Ireland
Colloide’s contract at Goldrum WTW involves all of the mechanical and electrical work associated with the Design, Supply and Installation of No. 2 pressure filters and the refurbishment of the existing plant. Works associated with the upgrade of the existing Goldrum WTW includes the refurbishment of the existing No. 4 pressure filters and the supply of No. 2 new filters.
 08/08/2010 Colloide successful complete Ardee Chemical Dosing Contract, Co. Louth, Ireland.
Colloide have successfully completed a contract in Ireland for the supply of a sulphuric acid dosing system for a water treatment plant. The scope of work included the upgrade of the existing water treatment works with the supply of a new chemical dosing system and the supply of actuated valves for the filters and clarifier.
