Colloide Progress To Construction Phase of Bunhill Energy Centre

Colloide are now progressing towards the Construction phase of Bunhill’s district heating energy centre. This phase of works includes the setting of foundations and erection of supporting steelwork which will form the perimeter of the new energy centre. This phase also includes the updating of the heating systems in each of the buildings connected to the District Heating Network so that they can make the most efficient use of the energy supplied.

The project is the first of its kind in Europe and will provide affordable heating for a large council housing area, a local school, a proposed sheltered housing block and a nursery in South Islington. As principal contractor Colloide designed the heating system and the energy centre, incorporating an ammonia heat pump and various innovative energy solutions.
