Contract type
We were contracted to provide a turnkey solution which meant we designed and built both the M&E and civil works.
Project outline
Colloide were employed to build a treatment plant for a small village. The size of the treatment plant was to suit 300pe and the discharge consent from the plant was 10mg/l BOD and 10mg/l SS.
Project description:
Colloide provided a treatment system based on their MBR technology. The plant was designed to be as flexible as possible to deal with daily fluctuations in flows and also allow for a low flow at initial start up. The overall plant was required to be as modular as possible as the Client wanted the possibility of extending it in the future.

With the above in mind, the treatment plant was designed with the following stages:

* Inlet pumping station
* Screening plant
* Primary settlement (two stream)
* Aeration & MBR tanks (two stream)
* Associated pumps, air blowers, etc.
* Control & SCADA system

To minimise project time and potential problems, the treatment tanks used were GRP, the membrane assemblies were built up in our workshop and delivered directly to site, the control system was set up in our workshop and tested, etc. All of this resulted in a short project time.
