Biomass Boilers in Ireland – SSRH
What is the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat?
The SSRH is a Government initiative to reduce Ireland’s dependence on fossil fuels. The scheme is designed to financially support the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems with renewable energy for large heat demand, non-domestic users.
This support scheme provides ongoing operational support, paid for a period of up to 15 years for those who switch to a biomass heating system in Ireland.

Who can apply?
The scheme is open to commercial, industrial, agricultural, district heating, public sector and other non-domestic businesses with a legitimate use for heat and who currently use fossil fuels for heat, such as oil or gas.
What are the tariffs?
The support scheme for renewable heat will reward users with a paid tariff for the amount of renewable fuel burned in MWh / Year.

What are the benefits?
- Reduced Energy Costs; Biomass Energy is cheaper than oil or gas, significantly reducing your energy bills. Our biomass boilers have over 90% efficiency meaning you get more heat from your wood per tonne.
- Increased Income; Receive payment for heating for 15 years.
- Improved Animal Welfare; In poultry farms for example, air and litter quality is greatly improved due to the reduction of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and water vapour within the environment. This also reduced incidences of pododermatitis and hock burn.
- Environmental Credentials; Reduced carbon footprint.
