Colloide raise £500 for St Luke’s Community Centre!
Colloide Engineering are pleased to announce we have achieved our fundraising target for St Luke’s Community Centre, Central Street, London. Throughout September two members of Colloide Engineering- Elaine Hargan and Joanne Irwin each completed a 100-mile run challenge in order to raise money to donate to St Luke’s.
During their running challenge, Elaine and Joanne also signed up for a 10k race on the 3rd December in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Bobbie Milligan, another member of Colloide, decided to join them for the race.
Elaine, Joanne and Bobbie took part in the 10k race last weekend and completed the challenge. A great day was had and a brilliant achievement by all!
In total Colloide raised an amazing £500! On Friday 2nd December Elaine, Joanne and Bobbie presented the cheque to St Luke’s Community Centre service users.
St Luke’s is a community centre that provides a space for local people, young and old, to gather and socialise.
St Luke’s goal is to improve the conditions of life for the people living in the area. They aim to contribute towards the area being welcoming, safe, healthy, alive with activity, and neighbourly. The Centre provides and hosts over 65 weekly activities ranging from after school clubs to care for the elderly and cookery projects.
The Community Centre also hosts a Christmas Day lunch every year for older residents who might otherwise be alone at Christmas. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to fundraise for this very worthwhile charity.
Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who supported Colloide throughout these challenges and who donated very generously to the online fundraising page.
