Horton Leachate Treatment Plant

Colloide was appointed as the M&E specialist contractor to design and deliver a new landfill leachate treatment plant, working with Viridor Waste Management Ltd and SKM Enviros.

The leachate treatment stream involved a biological aerobic treatment process which included a raw leachate balance tank (RLBT), an aeration stage, an ultra-filtration (UF) system and a reed bed for tertiary treatment followed by a system to pump the treated effluent to discharge.

We designed and installed the pumping systems, control panels, instrumentation and cabling, chemical dosing, aerators, ultrafiltration system, interconnecting pipework and valves and SCADA systems.
