Liffey Meats – Effluent Treatment

Colloide was appointed to upgrade the aeration system in Liffey Meats wastewater treatment plant.

We proposed a design based on a new fine bubble aeration system, coupled with duty standby roots-type blowers, rather than the surface aerators and venture jet aerators that had been in place. Our design also included a new system to automatically control the blowers and new dissolved air monitors.

Having accepted the design, we were then responsible for the installation and commissioning of the upgrade. The overall system was installed in less than one week on site and has resulted in a 50% saving in electricity costs.
