Raglan WwTW Upgrade Welsh Water chemical dosing Framework

Colloide were appointed as Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractor to complete the Design, Manufacture, Delivery, Installation, Offloading, Commissioning and Testing of Ferric Dosing for JN Bentley on behalf of Welsh Water. These works are part of the ongoing framework contract Colloide have in place for package dosing systems with Welsh Water.

 

The main reason for the upgrade to Raglan was to meet the more stringent phosphorus removal requirements, placed on the water industry. Welsh Water anticipate an increase from 26.12% to 34.6% from 2015 to 2025 on their percentage of sludge generated from the phosphorous sites compared to the total sludge produced.

Scope of work

The package dosing systems were designed and constructed with a view of reducing time on site. Following offloading, setting in place and installation. Colloide completed SAT’s on all equipment, including:

 

•Hydrostatic testing of chemical storage tank

•Pressure testing of all pipework

•SAT’s of pumps and instrumentation

 

Training was provided to our client and operators on the system and O&M documentation handed over.
